FREE WEBINAR: (Y)our Place Matters : sustaining Glasgow city centre’s green recovery

Tuesday 7 July at 13.00 - 14.30 - Glasgow Chamber of Commerce

In the second webinar in the (Y)our Place Matters series, hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, you are invited to help shape the agenda and share your ideas for the future of Glasgow city centre. We want to explore how Glasgow’s city centre should adapt to ensure it can thrive in future and enhance the quality of life for all Glaswegians? How can we plan for a green recovery post-Covid-19; taking this opportunity to renew and reset our ambitions for the future of (Y)our City Centre. What local solutions can we devise to address the global issues of our age - climate change, health and wellbeing, socio-economic inequalities – respecting planet, people and place?

Glasgow City Council have recently appointed a multi-disciplinary creative team to work in collaboration with local communities (resident, business, civic, cultural) alongside local and national agencies to address these issues and prepare District Regeneration Frameworks for Cowcaddens, Townhead, the ‘Learning Quarter’ and the Merchant City. These Districts, largely beyond the core city centre, present an opportunity to positively transform and adapt Glasgow for the future.

As the project launches the team, led by Austin-Smith:Lord, Studio for New Realties and Urban Movement, with Civic Engineers, Stantec, Useful Projects and others, are keen to listen and learn from all stakeholders. There’s an open call for ideas to help collectively set the agenda for the future. We invite anyone with a passion for Glasgow to engage and share your ideas for (Y)our City Centre; and help to translate those ideas to action.
